The Duchess of Cambridge Turns Heads in Vegan Anita Dongre Dress
Since the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge began their first official visit to India, the public has been under the royal couple’s spell – and paying close attention to the Duchess’ fashion choices. While playing cricket with legend Sachin Tendulkar, Her Royal Highness went for a vibrant and vegan Anita Dongre dress with an eye-catching pattern and perfect fit, proving that high fashion can be cruelty-free.
Top fashion designer knows that you don’t need to abuse animals to make beautiful clothes and never uses leather or cashmere in her designs. To make the Duchess’ easy breezy dress, the designer used viscose georgette fabric, which is a plant-based cellulosic fibre.
Says Anita, “My work reflects my real-life values, which is why I don’t use leather in my designs. With so many other choices available, we don’t need to support fashion that is the product of an animal’s violent death. Using animal skin is a throwback to less-enlightened times, not a cutting-edge fashion statement. That’s why I don’t work with leather”.
The photos of Kate Middleton playing football and cricket in Anita’s cruelty-free dress are already sending shockwaves around the fashion world. The Duchess shows not only how women can be athletic and elegant at the same but also how cruelty-free fashion reigns supreme.
Support vegan fashion like royalty by pledging that the only skin you’re in is your own.
