Celebrate #DilSeDiwali by Pledging to Keep Animals Safe
Families, friends, and neighbours all come together during the beautiful festival of lights, Diwali. As we enjoy the delightful dishes and wonderful lights, let’s not forget to take care of our four-legged friends, who don’t realise that the explosions of fireworks displays are for entertainment, not a sign of danger.
Many animals run away from their homes after becoming frightened by the loud noises. The lucky ones are reunited with their families, but others are never found, and some sustain serious injuries or even die as they venture onto roads and get hit by vehicles while trying to escape the sounds. In association with Mumbai Live, PETA is encouraging everyone to make this Diwali special for animals, too, simply by not setting off firecrackers – and by sharing the video below using the hashtag #DilSeDiwali.
Here are a few more things you can do to inspire your friends and family to protect animals this Diwali:
• Send PETA’s Diwali e-card.
• Share these Diwali tips.
• Join our #SayNoToPatakas mission.
PETA and Mumbai Live wish everyone a happy and safe Diwali!
