Sunny Leone Stars in New Campaign for Bhamla Foundation and PETA India
Bollywood actor Sunny Leone along with her husband, musician Daniel Weber, have just joined hands with Bhamla Foundation and PETA India for a video encouraging kindness to homeless dogs and cats, who suffer and languish on the streets. The video campaign was launched on Earth Day (22 April) and timed to remind the public not to forget to help animals during this difficult time.

“This Earth Day, I along with [Bhamla Foundation, Daniel Weber, PETA India, and Saher Bhamla] have a message of kindness from the Earth’s inhabitants – dogs and cats – for you,” Sunny posted on her social media pages.
“Bhamla Foundation is proud to be associated with PETA India. We have a division of Eco-Champs within the foundation who have worked relentlessly for a year on the ground, addressing issues of veterinary concerns for stray animals and ensuring they’re provided with food,” says Bhamla Foundation founder Asif Bhamla. “We thank the film fraternity, which has a large following on digital platforms, for supporting our campaigns. Our team is equally thankful to Dr Manilal Valliyate, Ms Sunny Leone, and Mr Daniel Weber. A big hug to dearest Sachin Bangera for putting all this in prospective. We look forward for many more endeavours together in which we can raise greater consciousness.”
Right now, homeless cats and dogs all across India are fighting for their lives. With only scraps to eat, many go hungry. Others are killed by vehicles, sustain broken bones or wounds that become infected, or are abused by cruel people. Countless more wait in animal shelters because there aren’t enough good homes for them. PETA India promotes the sterilisation of dogs and cats and adoption from shelters and the street – animals should never be purchased. That’s because every time someone buys a dog or a cat from a breeder, from a pet store, or online, an animal roaming the streets or waiting in an animal shelter loses a chance at finding a home. Sterilisation is a routine, affordable surgery that can prevent pregnancies, giving the dogs and cats who are already here the best chance at life. PETA India also encourages the public to help community animals, who are often reliant on scraps from restaurants, during lockdowns by putting out food and clean water.
