Posted on by Erika Goyal

As we wrap up the year, let’s celebrate the celebrities who have lent their voices and star power to support PETA India’s various campaigns. Here’s a look at their impactful contributions:

Adah Sharma‘s anti-leather campaign, with the messages “Leather Is a Rip-Off” and “Your Leather Jacket Was Someone,” aims to highlight the suffering of over 1.4 billion animals killed annually for leather.

Diana Penty‘s dog adoption campaign encourages adopting shelter dogs instead of buying animal companions, featuring Biscuit, a dog who was up for adoption. Biscuit found her forever home soon!

Jacqueline Fernandez starred in a PETA India campaign, urging fans to adopt cats and dogs from shelters instead of buying them. Posing with her rescued dog, Yolo, she spread the message, “Be an Angel for Animals: Adopt! Don’t Shop.”

  • Stars Support the ‘JUMBO’ Mechanical Elephants Campaign

PETA India’s campaign to donate mechanical elephants to South Indian temples received commendable support from Shilpa Shetty, Adah Sharma, Samyukta Hornad, Priyamani, Aindrita Ray and Diganth Manchale, and Vedhika and child actor Sreepath Yan. These elephants will ensure safe, cruelty-free ceremonies, allowing real elephants to stay in their natural habitats.

A group of Bollywood stars, including John Abraham, Zeenat Aman, Sonakshi Sinha, Shilpa Shetty, Richa Chadha, and Raveena Tandon, signed an appeal to the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying. They urged the government to ban the use of elephants in performances, highlighting their status as a national heritage animal and endangered species.
