PETA India Joins Vegan Brand Zouk to Celebrate Innovators at Vegan Creators Day & Awards 2023
There’s no getting around it, compassion is the new cool! Exciting and compassionate innovations are at an all-time high, and the vegan lifestyle is here to stay. Surveys show that an increasing number of Indians are gravitating towards kinder choices and habits due to concerns regarding animal welfare in food production. For World Vegan Month (November), PETA India teamed up with “PETA-Approved Vegan” lifestyle brand Zouk, which bagged the award for Best Vegan Wallets at the PETA India Fashion Awards 2021, to honour the trailblazers who are making it easier for everyone to live out their values every day. The unique event, curated by Zouk in partnership with PETA India, is now in its second year and was held at Balsa, Lower Parel, Mumbai.
The Vegan Creators Day & Awards was a vegan haven featuring scrumptious food, soulful live music, and an informative panel discussion with prominent industry experts on “Shaping 100,000 Vegan Creators in India: The Role of Brands, Creators & Consumers”. The list of panellists included Palak Mehta, founder and CEO of Vegan First, India’s leading plant-based media publication and events company; Raveena Taurani, chef and founder of Yogisattva Cafe in Bandra; Amy Aela, actor, animal activist, and co-founder of Meat Less Meet More; Pradeep Krishnakumar, co-founder of Zouk; and Monica Chopra, manager of fashion, media and celebrity projects at PETA India.
The highlight of the day was the highly awaited awards ceremony recognising the leading creators championing cruelty-free lifestyle shifts in India.
Without further ado, the winners were: Chintan Rachchh, Raveena Taurani, Palak Mehta, Neha Ranglani, Shreya Ghodawat, and Amy Aela.
The winners and attendees also received hampers from Zouk, inclusive of new book, Survival at Stake, by PETA India director Poorva Joshipura.
