As the year concludes, let’s revisit PETA India’s impactful campaigns led by celebrities. From promoting vegan living to advocating animal-friendly entertainment, these stars left a lasting imprint on animal rights. Here’s a look at some of these campaigns.

Palak Tiwari: Perched on a rock as a “mermaid” about to be caught in a net, Palak Tiwari initiated Vegetarian Awareness Month (October) with a print campaign for PETA India encouraging individuals to empathize with fish and advocating for allowing the sentient beings to remain in their natural ocean habitat.

  1. Dia Mirza: In a unique child empathy–building initiative, actor Dia Mirza gave voice to Ellie, a lifelike animatronic elephant who narrates the struggles of elephants in circuses.

  1. John Abraham: A star of the action-packed thriller Pathaan, actor John Abraham stood out in a striking campaign that highlights the plight of elephants exploited for tourist rides.

  1. Sahil Salathia: For International Tiger Day (29 July), actor Sahil Salathia of Amazon Prime’s Adhura joined a PETA India campaign empathizing with captive tigers and urging people to “Say NO to Cages.”

 

  1. Fatima Sana Shaikh: Ahead of Eid ul-Adha, actor Fatima Sana Shaikh donated vegan biryani, made with GoodDot Pro Chaap and served with alt foods’ plant-based chocolate milk, through PETA India to 1000 people in need.

  1. Radhika Madan: Radhika Madan donned a cabbage leaf dress in PETA India’s eye-catching campaign on World Environment Day (5 June), promoting plant-based eating and urging people to try vegan.

  1. Dino Morea, Bisleri Vedica, and GQ India: A partnership between Bisleri Vedica, GQ India, actor and animal advocate Dino Morea, and PETA India encouraged everyone to open their hearts and homes to dogs and cats in need.

  1. Parvathy Thiruvothu: Award-winning Indian film actor Parvathy Thiruvothu joined PETA India in supporting the “Nadayiruthal” (a ceremony in which an elephant is offered to the gods) of Irinjadappilly Raman, a magnificent, lifelike mechanical elephant.
