Will you help protect ducks and geese from being plucked and slaughtered?
In the down industry, live ducks and geese are painfully plucked. Workers have been filmed putting them in a chokehold while ripping out their feathers and swinging them by the wings. One worker was photographed sitting on a goose’s neck to stop the animal from fleeing. Some birds die from the traumatising ordeal, which they may endure for the first time when they’re just 10 weeks old and is repeated every six weeks. Birds who survive live-plucking are slaughtered for meat.
Ducks and geese need their down, but humans don’t need to parade around in bird feathers. Your generous gift today will boost PETA India’s campaigns to protect animals from exploitation and abuse.
